


The Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU) commemorated the significant National Revolution and Solidarity Day on November 7 with appropriate respect and enthusiasm.
The day's events commenced at 8:00 a.m. with a vibrant procession that began in front of the administration building, traversed the main roads of the campus, and concluded at the TSC Conference Hall, where a discussion session took place. This event was collaboratively organized by PSTU UTAB, Zia Parishad, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, and the Nationalist Employees’ Forum.
The programme featured former Home and Commerce Minister and ex-Chief of Air Staff Air Vice Marshal (Retd.) Altaf Hossain Chowdhury as the chief guest, while PSTU Vice-Chancellor, distinguished academic and researcher Professor Dr. Kazi Rafiqul Islam, acted as the chief patron.
Special guests included Professor Dr. S. M. Hemayet Jahan, Pro-Vice Chancellor of PSTU; Gazi Md. Bazlur Rahman, Principal of Kathaltali Akhtar Hossain Chowdhury Memorial College; and Md. Abubakar Siddique, President of Zia Parishad. In his address, chief guest Air Vice Marshal (Retd.) Altaf Hossain Chowdhury remarked, "November 7 is a momentous day in Bangladesh's history. This day marked the unity between soldiers and the general populace, ushering in a new era of national solidarity. The younger generation must embrace the spirit of patriotism, unity, and responsibility to aid in the nation's development."
He further stated, "Education is the cornerstone of a nation. Our education system faced challenges during previous administrations, but it is now our shared responsibility to work together to enhance educational quality and institutional advancement."
He also pledged to engage with the Chief of Air Staff and relevant authorities regarding the restoration of the directional memorial fighter aircraft situated at Lebukhali University Square.
In his speech, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Kazi Rafiqul Islam expressed, "The essence of revolution and solidarity transcends politics—it embodies our national confidence and sense of purpose.
Achieving true national unity requires honesty, patriotism, and accountability.
He called on everyone to collaborate, drawing inspiration from the spirit of the Liberation War, to promote good governance, democratic principles, and national unity.
The discussion was led by Professor Dr. Md. Mamun Ur Rashid, President of PSTU UTAB, and facilitated by Md. Sohel Rana Jony, General Secretary of PSTU Chhatra Dal.
Also present at the event were Professor Dr. Md. Iktiar Uddin, Registrar of PSTU, along with faculty members, staff, and students from various departments.
