The Bangladesh Army has built a new home for the family of a deceased soldier in Morelganj, Bagerhat, to ensure their safe living.

On Wednesday (July 1) morning, Lieutenant Colonel Ariful Islam, PSC, Commander of the 66 East Bengal Regiment, officially handed over the house keys to Sarmin Akhter, the widow of the late Corporal Shariful Islam (Engineers Battalion) in Morelganj Sadar Union.

Speaking at the handover event, Lt. Col. Ariful Islam stated, "The Bangladesh Army is proud to stand by the family of Corporal Shariful Islam. It is our moral and professional responsibility to support the families of members who dedicated their lives to the country. These welfare initiatives will continue."

Corporal Shariful’s two young daughters, Suraiya Jannat Sefa (9) and Sabiha Jannat (4), attended the ceremony alongside local freedom fighters, journalists, public representatives, and community leaders.
