


The internal rice collection drive for the current Boro season was inaugurated at the Naldanga Government Food Warehouse in Sadullapur Upazila of Gaibandha on Wednesday afternoon (May 20).
The programme was organized by the Upazila Administration and the Upazila Food Department. Naldanga Union Parishad Chairman Abdul Gafur formally inaugurated the drive.
Among those present were Sadullapur Upazila Food Controller Afan Ali, Officer-in-Charge of Naldanga Food Warehouse Khairul Hasan, rice trader Mominul Islam Momin, Dipu Mahanta, Senior Vice President of Sadullapur Reporters Club Shahidul Islam Shahin, journalist Mojahidul Islam Biplob, local dignitaries, and warehouse staff.
According to officials, the government has set a target of procuring around 2,500 metric tons of rice during the 2025–26 Boro season at a fixed price of Tk 49 per kilogram.
