


The newly elected committee of the Bhola Press Club for the 2026–28 term officially took office following an oath-taking ceremony on Saturday afternoon (April 25).
The event brought a festive atmosphere to the Bhola District Council premises, gathering prominent local figures, journalists and cultural activists.
Bhola Press Club President Nazrul Haque Anu presided over the event, which was moderated by Talha Talukder Bandhan. General Secretary Nasir Liton delivered the welcome address to open the program. Dr. Shamim Rahman formally administered the oath of office to the new committee members, who then exchanged greetings and floral tributes with the guests.
Dr. Shamim Rahman attended the ceremony as the chief guest, with Alhaj Golam Nabi Alamgir present as the guest of honour. The event also featured several special guests from the local administration and political spectrum, including Superintendent of Police Md. Shahidullah Kawsar PPM (Bar), Nizam Hasina Foundation Chairman Nizam Uddin Ahmed, District BNP Member Secretary Raisul Alam, District Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) President Amirul Islam Ratan, District Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Zakir Hossain and Bhola Sadar Upazila BNP Convener Asif Altaf.
Additionally, Election Management Committee Co-chairmen Enamul Haque and Yarul Alam Liton, along with Daily Ajker Bhola Editor Shawkat Hossain, attended the inauguration.
Meanwhile, Business Times Staff Reporter, Mr. Nura Alam Foyezulla also elected as Finance Secretary in the newly elected committee of the Bhola Press Club for the 2026–28. All the Business Times family members congratulate him with his oath ceremony.
The formal proceedings were followed by a lively cultural program that drew a large, enthusiastic crowd. The audience enjoyed musical performances by Asif Altaf and his band 'Sagar', alongside Hasan Mahmud, Mahia Mishu, and Talha Talukder Bandhan.
Organizers expressed optimism about the new committee's tenure, stating that such gatherings play a vital role in strengthening unity among journalists, promoting professional development, and fostering mutual harmony in the district.
