College Student Dies After Veil Gets Caught in Auto-Rickshaw Wheel

A college student died in a tragic road accident in Ishwardi, Pabna on Monday morning after her veil (orna) became entangled in the wheels of a moving CNG-run auto-rickshaw.

The victim, 18-year-old Jasmine Akhter Ritu, was an Alim examinee and the daughter of Zahidul Islam from Saraikandi village.

Witnesses said the accident occurred in the Pakshi area when her veil suddenly got caught in the vehicle's rotating wheels, pulling her off the seat and onto the road.

Locals rushed her to the Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex, where on-duty doctors declared her dead. Ishwardi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Asadur Rahman confirmed the incident, noting that the body was handed over to the family without an autopsy as no complaints were filed.
