Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-11 has arrested Arman Hossain, the prime suspect in the murder of Jubo Dal leader Belal Hossain Mishiri in Raipur, Laxmipur.
The arrest was confirmed by Assistant Superintendent of Police Mithun Kumar Kundu, Acting Company Commander of RAB-11 Noakhali Camp, during a press conference at the Laxmipur Press Club on Monday morning.
According to RAB, the incident began on February 5 following a dispute between two rickshaw pullers on a main road in Raipur Municipality. Belal Hossain intervened to mediate the fight. During the altercation, Arman Hossain allegedly attacked Belal, punching him repeatedly until he collapsed. Locals rushed Belal to the Raipur Upazila Health Complex, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Following the death, the victim's wife, Rahima Akhter Simu, filed a murder case at Raipur Police Station naming Arman as the primary accused. RAB and local police launched a joint investigation to track him down.
Acting on a tip-off, RAB-11 conducted a raid on Sunday night near Bikrampur Plaza in Dhaka’s Kadamtali area, where Arman was apprehended. He is currently being processed for handover to the relevant police station for further legal proceedings.
