A blood group determination camp for newly admitted Class XI students was held at Pabna College on Wednesday. Organized by the college’s social organization 'Raktabandhu' and sponsored by Kimia Specialist Center, the event aimed to create a vital blood donor database.
Pabna College Principal Ju Ha Mohammad Atiqullah formally inaugurated the camp on the campus premises at 8:30 AM. Medical technologists collected samples and determined the blood groups of the incoming students throughout the morning.
Highlighting the initiative the Vice-Principal Rashed Hossain Faruk Roni noted that 'Raktabandhu' serves as an essential voluntary arm of the college. He explained that establishing a comprehensive student blood group database will ensure rapid assistance and procurement during emergency medical situations.
Separately also an exchange meeting on health awareness and accurate disease diagnosis was held in the afternoon in the teachers' lounge for faculty and staff. Presided over by Principal Atiqullah, the discussion featured Dr. Mahbubul Alam Parvez, President of the College Governing Body as the chief guest.
Kimia Specialist Center Managing Director Mostafa Jamal Shamim stated that the health initiative forms part of their ongoing social welfare programs.
During the meeting the health cards were introduced for the college’s teaching and non-teaching staff. Principal Atiqullah commended the effort also expressing confidence that the health cards would offer timely healthcare support to the college community.
