


Laxmipur District Police detained 182 youths during a coordinated five-hour operation targeting "teen gangs" and juvenile delinquents across the district on Tuesday evening.
Teams from all six police stations in the district and the Detective Branch (DB) carried out the drive simultaneously from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The operation was directed by Superintendent of Police (SP) Md. Abu Tarek and supervised by Additional SP Hossain Md. Raihan Kazemi. Law enforcement targeted spots known for youth public nuisances and illegal activities.
Breakdown of detentions included 60 in Laxmipur Sadar, 21 in Chandraganj, 24 in Raipur, 24 in Ramganj, 13 in Ramgati, 17 in Kamalnagar and 23 by the DB.
Following initial verification the police released 159 minors and youths to the custody of their parents or legal guardians after securing written undertakings. The remaining 23 individuals along with 2 others held under prior arrest warrants are being sent to court under various charges including Sections 151 and 34 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
Police officials emphasized that such drives will continue to maintain public safety and deter juvenile crimes in the region.
