Child dies of dengue in Chattogram

The ongoing dengue crisis in Chattogram claimed the life of a 10-year-old child, Nadia Jannat Taskia, raising the district's total dengue-related fatalities this year to 22.

According to the Chattogram District Civil Surgeon's Office, Taskia was admitted to Chattogram Evercare Hospital on Tuesday, November 11, and tragically passed away while undergoing treatment for the mosquito-borne disease.

The death comes amid a continuing surge in infections. In the past 24 hours alone (ending Wednesday, November 12), 34 new individuals were hospitalized across various facilities in Chattogram city.

This influx pushes the cumulative number of dengue cases recorded in Chattogram this year to 3,983. The case breakdown includes 2,098 men, 1,176 women, and 709 children.
