Lakshmipur District Development Coordination Meeting Held

A district development coordination meeting was held in Lakshmipur on Sunday to review the progress of ongoing government development projects, strengthen coordination among government agencies and assess implementation challenges.

The meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner's Office and chaired by Lakshmipur Deputy Commissioner SM Mehedi Hasan.

Among those attending were Police Superintendent Abu Tarek, Civil Surgeon Bahrul Alam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Samrat Khrisas, heads of various government departments and other relevant officials.

During the meeting, officials presented updates on several ongoing projects under the Public Works Department (PWD).

Officials said that construction of three of Lakshmipur's six model mosques has been completed and the facilities have already been handed over. Construction of the remaining three model mosques is still underway.

Construction of four-storey buildings for Lakshmipur Sadar and Ramgati police stations is also ongoing. Work on the Textile Vocational Institute is continuing as well.

Executive Engineer of the Roads and Highways Department Nazrul Islam presented an update on road development projects across the district.

He said the project to upgrade the Lakshmipur–Chandraganj road to a four-lane highway is currently underway at an estimated cost of around Tk 320 crore.

Work has also begun on upgrading the strategically important Ramganj–Sonaimuri road to four lanes, officials said.

The meeting stressed completing development projects within their scheduled timelines, ensuring construction quality and improving coordination among government agencies involved in different projects.

Officials said regular coordination meetings led by the district administration are being used to review project progress and identify and resolve implementation problems more quickly.
