Neymar's found himself in hot water again not over football this time but over a birthday party moment. During his daughter Mel's six-month celebration the cameras caught the Brazilian star glued to his phone while everyone else sang "Happy Birthday." Turns out he was playing online poker.
The clip went viral fast and social media couldn't agree on how to feel about it. Some fans laughed it off also calling it classic Neymar multitasking nothing wrong with a quick game during a family moment. Others weren't so forgiving and calling it a red flag and questioning his priorities on such a special day. A few even brought up his known love for gambling though that's all speculation at this point.
The old video is resurfacing now for an unrelated reason a new clip showing Neymar's ex and his current partner cooking together has people digging up old content and this poker moment got pulled back into the spotlight.
Timing-wise, it's not great for Neymar either. He's currently out injured and sidelined with a Grade 2 hamstring strain suffered in a September match against Palmeiras while playing for Santos as the club he returned to after his stint abroad. He's expected to be out for four to eight weeks also rules him out of Santos's Copa Sudamericana quarterfinal clash against Atlético Mineiro.
For now, it's just another chapter in Neymar's very public and very online life.
