First Session of 13th National Parliament Begins

The first session of the 13th National Parliament commenced at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 12. As the Speaker’s chair was vacant at the start of the proceedings, the session began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Following parliamentary protocol, the Leader of the Parliament will propose a senior member to preside over the initial meeting.

Once another Member of Parliament seconds the proposal, the nominated member will take the chair to conduct the session.

In accordance with constitutional requirements, President Md. Shahabuddin is scheduled to address the House during this opening session of the new Parliament.
