


The Bangladesh Army has carried out another reshuffle of senior leadership positions, appointing several high-ranking officers to new roles, including the post of Quartermaster General (QMG).
This is the second major reshuffle at the top level of the army within a week. A senior official of the defence ministry confirmed the development on Wednesday (February 26).
Lt Gen Mohammad Shaheenul Haque, who was serving as Commandant of the National Defence College (NDC), has been transferred as the new Quartermaster General. Lt Gen Mohammad Faizur Rahman, who previously held the QMG post, has been appointed as the new Commandant of the NDC.
Meanwhile, Maj Gen Hossain Al Morshed, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 19 Infantry Division and Area Commander of Ghatail, has been appointed Adjutant General at Army Headquarters.
The current Adjutant General, Maj Gen Md Hakimuzzaman, has been posted as Commandant of the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST). Maj Gen Md Nasim Parvez, who had been serving as MIST Commandant, has been transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In another change, Maj Gen Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, GOC of the 66 Infantry Division and Rangpur Area Commander, has been appointed GOC and Area Commander of the Logistics Area in Dhaka Cantonment.
Maj Gen Muhammad Mostagousur Rahman Khan, the former head of the Logistics Area in Dhaka Cantonment, has retired on regular terms.
Earlier, on February 22, the army reshuffled several other key posts, including the Chief of General Staff (CGS), Principal Staff Officer (PSO), and Director General of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI). On the same day, new GOCs were appointed to the 55th Infantry Division in Jashore and the 24th Infantry Division in Chattogram.
