Government Appoints New DCs in 23 Districts

The Government of Bangladesh has announced a significant administrative reshuffle, appointing new Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in 23 districts across the country.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued two separate notifications on Thursday night to effect these changes, primarily by transferring existing DCs and promoting several Deputy Secretary (DS) level officers.

A major transfer saw Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah, the DC of Narayanganj, appointed as the new DC of Chattogram.

The government also rescinded the earlier appointment orders for two DCs, Swadeep Kumar Singh of Barguna and Lutfun Nahar of Meherpur, which were issued in a notification on November 8.
