


The third session of the 13th National Parliament is scheduled to begin on Thursday, August 27. Interim President Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed convened the session using his constitutional authority.
The information was confirmed on Tuesday (August 11) through a press release signed by Monir Hossain, Director of Public Relations-1 at the Parliament Secretariat.
According to the release, the President exercised the powers conferred upon him under Article 72(1) of the Constitution of the People's Republic of Bangladesh to summon the parliamentary session.
In the official statement, President Hafiz Uddin Ahmed declared, "By virtue of the powers vested in me under Clause (1) of Article 72 of the Constitution of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, I, Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, President of Bangladesh, hereby convene the third session of the 13th Parliament for 2026 to assemble at 3:00 PM on August 27 at the Parliament Chamber in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka."
