Russian Attacks Kill 5 in Zaporizhzhia and Strike Kyiv

Russian attacks early Tuesday killed at least five people and injured 20 in the southeastern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia while also triggering warehouse fires in the capital, Kyiv.

Zaporizhzhia Regional Governor Ivan Fedorov confirmed that Russian forces targeted the city using a combination of missiles and aerial bombs. Images shared by local authorities showed severe damage with buildings and vehicles engulfed in flames.

Air raid sirens sounded across both Zaporizhzhia and Kyiv. In the capital, the city's military administration reported that warehouses in a central district caught fire following the strikes at least one person injured. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that emergency medical teams were immediately dispatched to the affected area.

The initial air raid alert in Kyiv lasted for 40 minutes before being lifted, only to be reissued well after midnight as the aerial threat persisted. Witnesses on the ground reported hearing multiple loud explosions echoing across the city throughout the night.
