US President Donald Trump has announced that military operations in Iran are expected to conclude within the next two to three weeks. Speaking to reporters at the White House on Wednesday (April 1), the President provided a specific timeline for winding down the month-long conflict.
"We are gradually reducing our offensive activities in Iran," Trump stated. "I expect this operation to be completely finished in the next two to three weeks."
The US administration maintains that it is nearing the completion of its military goals against Tehran. However, the White House cautioned that this timeline remains subject to change should Iran launch significant counterattacks.
President Trump emphasized that the United States is not seeking a formal bilateral agreement to end the hostilities. He asserted that Washington holds the authority to conclude the military operation unilaterally.
According to the President, the primary mission—preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons—has been achieved. "They do not have any nuclear weapons now," Trump declared, suggesting a shift toward maintaining regional stability through diplomatic and economic pressure rather than active combat.
While Trump reiterated that his objective was not regime change, he notably remarked that the Iranian leadership has "already changed"—a comment analysts interpret as part of a broader "exit strategy." The administration believes that by significantly damaging Iran’s navy and missile infrastructure, Tehran’s military capabilities have been sufficiently neutralized.
The announcement comes at a critical time for the global economy. The conflict has led to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, causing a sharp spike in global oil prices. While Trump’s message of a quick conclusion may soothe markets, skepticism remains among key allies and Israel regarding the sudden de-escalation.
Despite the reduction in US offensive maneuvers, the regional security situation remains volatile following weeks of heavy casualties and infrastructure damage on both sides.
