Missing 5-Year-Old Found Dead in Sack in Chittagong; 5 Arrested

Police have recovered the body of five-year-old Md. Jaihan, who went missing in Patia, Chittagong. His body was found stuffed in a sack behind a neighbor's house early Wednesday (June 17). Five suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Jaihan, the son of local garage owner Md. Shahjahan from the South Gobindakhil area (Ward No. 8) of Patia Municipality, had been missing since Tuesday afternoon.

According to Patia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ziaul Haque, officers located the child's body in a garbage dump around 3:00 a.m. based on information provided by a teenage girl among the arrested suspects. Authorities noted visible head injuries on the victim's body.

Police also seized a ransom letter connected to the case. The arrested neighbors have been identified as Md. Saiful, Shahanur, Niha, Nihan, and Wasifa. Further investigation is underway.
