Shantiganj Press Club Elects Sohel Talukder President

The bi-annual conference of Shantiganj Press Club was held in Shantiganj Upazila of Sunamganj district.

A new 19-member committee was formed at the conference, with Sohel Talukder elected as President and Hossain Ahmed as General Secretary.

The election was held on Wednesday night (June 17) at the FIVDB Hall in Shantiganj Bazar. The new leadership was selected through the consensus of journalists present at the conference.

The committee also includes Advisory Member Kazi Mohammad Jamirul Islam Momtaz, Senior Vice President MM Ilias Ali, Vice Presidents Hafiz Mosahid Ahmed and Saleh Ahmed Hridoy, Organizing Secretary Yakub Shahriar, Finance Secretary Nohan Arefin Newaz, Office Secretary Jamiul Islam Turan, Publicity Secretary Alal Hossain, and Sports and Cultural Affairs Secretary Abdur Rahman Jami.

Executive members are Kuhinur Rahman Nahid, Mamun Ahmed, Solaiman Ahmed Kamran, Tofail Ahmed, Nayeem Ahmed, Abdul Momin, and expatriate members Md. Shahid Mia and Mohammad Ali.

Following the formation of the committee, special honors were presented to industrialist Ekhlis Khan, document writer Lincoln Talukder, and expatriate journalist Md. Shaheed Mia in recognition of their contributions.
