


The 165th birth anniversary of world poet Rabindranath Tagore was celebrated in Lohagara, Narail, through a discussion meeting and cultural program.
The event was organized by the traditional Ramnarayan Public Library at its hall room around 5:30 pm on Friday (May 8).
The discussion meeting was chaired by Lohagara Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Municipal Administrator Sushmita Saha. It was moderated by Kazi Golam Mostafa, member secretary of the library’s convening committee.
Speakers included retired agriculture officer Raghunath Kar, retired health and family planning officer Dr. Monowar Hossain Taposh, Chief Librarian Md. Siddiqur Rahman, English lecturer of Lohagara Government Adarsh College Mollah Zahidul Islam, and lifelong member of Ramnarayan Public Library Md. Zahurul Haque.
At the end of the program, local artists performed Rabindra Sangeet and other cultural songs in tribute to the poet.
