The Tala Press Club held a prayer meeting and discussion on Friday evening to honor the memory of its deceased members.

The event held at the club’s hallroom brought together journalists, politicians and local dignitaries to reflect on the legacy of those who served as the "mirror of society."

Presided over by Tala Press Club President Selim Haider, the meeting featured speeches from former Upazila BNP General Secretary Md. Shafiqul Islam, Professor Hafez Azizur Rahman, and other local leaders. Speakers emphasized that the courage and professional integrity shown by the late journalists would serve as a lasting inspiration for the new generation.

The tribute honored several late professionals, including Advocate Hasan Aorangi, AKM Mohiuddin, SM Nur Ali, and Professor Yogesh Chandra Biswas, among others. Speakers noted that these individuals were not merely news workers but vital spokespersons for the community.

The program concluded with a special munajat led by Maulana Towhidur Rahman, Imam of the Tala Upazila Model Mosque, seeking eternal peace for the departed souls. Members of the Press Club executive committee and local well-wishers attended the session.
