TM Ahmed Husain appointed acting registrar of Bangladesh Open University

TM Ahmed Husain, regional director of the Dhaka Regional Center of Bangladesh Open University (BOU), has been appointed acting registrar of the university.

He formally took charge on Monday (March 3) at the university’s Dhaka office in the presence of Vice-Chancellor ABM Obaidul Islam. He assumed the responsibility from former registrar (additional charge) Md. Anisur Rahman.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, the vice-chancellor described TM Ahmed Husain as a dedicated, honest and hardworking administrator. He said Husain’s efficiency and experience would help strengthen the university’s academic and administrative activities and improve the quality of services.

TM Ahmed Husain has previously served as head of the university’s main campus in Gazipur and several regional centres, including the Dhaka Regional Center. Colleagues know him for his strong administrative skills, sense of responsibility and commitment.

Teachers, officials and other stakeholders expressed hope that the university’s progress would gain momentum under his leadership. Faculty members and students also wished him a successful and productive tenure.
