


Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Mohammad Sakhawat Hossain made a surprise visit to Charbhadrasan Upazila Health Complex in Faridpur on Sunday also catching officials and staff off guard when he arrived at 9 am.
During the inspection minister reviewed hospital conditions and spoke directly with patients also asking about food quality, medicine supply and toilet cleanliness. Upazila Health Officer Dr. Hafizur Rahman accompanied him through the hospital's departments.
After learning that a nurse from the Family Planning Department had been absent for a long period the minister called the Director General on the spot and ordered her transfer to Sadarpur.
Briefing local journalists afterward the minister announced plans to expand the hospital to 151 beds. He also assured the urgent appointment of a gynecologist and a pediatrician to improve patient care.
Upazila Executive Officer Md. Julhas Hossain Sourav and Charbhadrasan Police Station OC Mohammad Shafar Ali arrived at the hospital after hearing of the visit.
