


Four children died with measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours until 8:00am Sunday also pushing the country's combined confirmed and suspected measles death toll to 967 this year.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) classified all four latest deaths as suspected measles cases. This brings total suspected measles deaths to 868 while confirmed deaths remain at 99.
During the same 24-hour period 1,151 new suspected measles cases were reported and raising the nationwide total to 156,829. Additionally, 365 new confirmed cases were recorded with bringing total laboratory-confirmed infections to 19,218.
Since March 15 this year 137,347 patients with suspected measles have been hospitalized across the country of whom 132,292 have recovered, according to DGHS data.
