Police accused of not taking dog killing case

The dog owner went to the police station to file a case in the case of killing three dogs by poisoning, but the police did not take the case for unknown reasons, the victim dog owner alleged.

Meanwhile, Pabna Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Aminul Islam claimed that it was not possible to take the case as the conditions of the case were not fulfilled. They will actually take the case if they fulfill the conditions.

He also said that in the wake of the verbal complaint, a police officer visited the scene on Wednesday morning. The police are working to identify the dog killer by reviewing the CCTV footage.

It is learned that from Tuesday morning to noon, unknown persons killed three dogs in Kadamtala of Kacharipara in Pabna suburb by poisoning food. The dog owner is Harunar Rashid. He is the executive engineer of the Rajshahi Divisional Public Health Department and the son of the deceased Hatem Ali Biswas of Kacharipara Mohalla.

According to the police station report, on the morning of January 13, Harunar Rashid heard the cries of his three pet dogs. He quickly came to the front of his house and saw his three pet dogs lying on the ground. Seeing the condition of the dogs, local veterinarian SA Mamun was brought to the scene. After examining the physical symptoms and condition of the dogs, the veterinarian confirmed that an attempt had been made to kill the dogs by poisoning them. Then the doctor started treatment to remove the poison from the dogs. While undergoing treatment, two dogs died at 8 am. Another dog died at around 1:30 pm on the same day.

Dog owner Harunar Rashid said that he had received legal assistance in the case of dog killing at Ishwardi and Pabna Science and Technology University in Pabna. We are working with animals. We are disappointed that the police station did not take a case. We want the dog killer to be identified and brought to justice.

Dog owner Harunar Rashid said in a tearful voice, "I do not see dogs that way just because they are dogs. They were my beloved ones." They would come running to me whenever they saw me, I liked seeing them.

Neighbors Nasima Khatun and Wahiduzzaman said, I rarely see dog lovers. We get annoyed when we see dogs and cats on the street. But wherever we see a dog or cat, dog lover Harun calls them close and caresses them like little children. He has no shortage of affection for pet or stray dogs and cats.

They said, when Harun walked on the road, the dogs would follow him. It was nice to see. Because people do not understand pets many times. But the animals that do understand pets are Harun or his dogs.

Harun's close friend Rakibuzzaman Saad said, people are becoming cruel day by day. After the killing of 8 puppies discussed in Ishwardi and the killing of dogs in Pabiprabi, it is really painful to kill three pet dogs at once in Pabna city. I also want people to change through the implementation of the law.
