Thousands of devotees have gathered at the Himaitpur ashram in Pabna to celebrate the 139th birth anniversary of Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra alongside the holy bathing festival in the Bhagirathi-Padma River.
The two-day festival with marking the sacred occasion of Tal-Navami officially began on Saturday. Organized by the Satsang Central Committee, the event features a comprehensive schedule of religious assemblies, mass prayers, continuous chanting (Sankirtan), devotional music and the distribution of Mahaprasad. Religious discussions throughout the weekend will focus on the life, universal teachings and spiritual ideals of Sri Sri Thakur.
To ensure a smooth celebration the organizers and local authorities have coordinated extensive security and logistical preparations. On Friday, local Member of Parliament Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas inspected the venue to review the arrangements.
The festival's main religious assembly will host several distinguished guests. On Sunday, Minister of Culture Nitai Roy Chowdhury is scheduled to attend as the chief guest, accompanied by senior government officials including the Prime Minister's Political Advisor, state ministers and local administration leaders. Satsang Central Committee President, Pran-Shankar Das is presiding over the discussions.
Tapas Chandra Barman the General Secretary of the Satsang Central Committee, confirmed that all preparations were successfully completed. "Devotees began arriving from across the country as early as Friday. With favorable weather we are witnessing a massive and peaceful gathering" he stated.
Beyond its religious rituals the festival serves as a massive spiritual congregation promoting Thakur Anukulchandra's enduring messages of empathy, humanity and global welfare.
