The suspect, identified as Imon Hossain, 25, was detained on Monday. Police later recovered Sakibul's auto-van from Dhanuaghata village based on information obtained during the investigation.
Sakibul was the son of Haris Pramanik of Ratanpur village in Faridpur Upazila. Imon is the son of Shah Alam of Kaliaikair village under Ullapara police station in Sirajganj. He currently lives in Dighulia village of Faridpur.

Later, residents of Mazat village spotted a body floating in the Baral River to the north of the village and informed police. Police recovered the body and identified it as Sakibul's.
His auto-van was missing at the time. Police also found a serious injury to his head and suspected that he had been killed by robbers who took the vehicle and left his body near the river.
Sakibul's father, Haris Uddin, filed a murder case with the police station on Sunday night against unidentified accused persons.
Following the case, police launched an investigation and detained Imon on Monday. They subsequently conducted a raid with him and recovered Sakibul's auto-van from Dhanuaghata village.
