


The three-month nationwide dengue prevention and cleanliness campaign has officially begun in Porsha Upazila, Naogaon following its national inauguration by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman in Dhaka.
The launch programme was held at the Upazila Parishad meeting room on Saturday where the national inauguration ceremony was broadcast live on a big screen.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rakibul Islam presided over the event. Assistant Commissioner (Land) Nabila Ferdous, Agriculture Officer Mamunur Rashid, Dr. Arif Hossain, Assistant Primary Education Officer Zainul Abedin and BNP General Secretary Sadikul Islam were among those present.
As part of the campaign the cleanliness and awareness activities will continue every Saturday for the next three months across Porsha also aiming to eliminate Aedes mosquito breeding grounds and reduce dengue risk ahead of the peak season.
Local officials urged residents to keep their surroundings clean and remove stagnant water regularly in line with the nationwide campaign's core message.
