Bangladesh and West Indies will face off in the first ODI of the three-match series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday at 1:30 pm.

ICC ODI ranking points will be on the line as both teams aim to strengthen their chances for automatic qualification for the 2027 World Cup. Historically, there's little to separate the two sides, has won six bilateral ODI series against the other.

Most recent whitewash against Afghanistan, Bangladesh will look to recover quickly and avoid a fifth successive ODI series defeat. The upcoming home series against windies offers a valuable opportunity for redemption.

West Indies and Bangladesh have met 47 times in ODIs and West Indies have won 24, Bangladesh 21, with two matches ending without a result. The both sides are evenly matched in bilateral ODI series, having won six each over the years. Only Shai Hope and Roston Chase have previously played ODIs in Bangladesh from the current West Indies squad.
