Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed announced on Saturday that the final decision regarding the formation and mandate of the Constitutional Reform Council will be made through parliamentary debate.
Speaking after a meeting of the Parliament’s Working Advisory Committee, the Minister emphasized that the legislature is the appropriate forum for such a significant national decision.
According to Minister Ahmed, the committee’s meeting outlined the roadmap for the current session. Key topics included the duration of the first session, upcoming legislative priorities, and the scheduled debate on the President’s speech.
The Minister confirmed that Parliament will adjourn following the session on Sunday, March 15, for the Eid holidays. The session is set to resume on March 29 and will remain active throughout April.
Addressing legal transitions, Ahmed stated that ordinances issued during the interim government's tenure will be referred to a special committee. This committee will scrutinize the laws before presenting a formal report to the Parliament for final approval.
