Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman departed Dhaka on Saturday morning for an official visit to Turkey and the United States. The mission aims to consolidate international support for Bangladesh’s candidacy to preside over the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
The Foreign Minister is scheduled for a brief stopover in Turkey, where he will engage in several high-level meetings and diplomatic programs. These discussions are part of a broader strategy to strengthen bilateral ties and secure regional backing before he proceeds to New York.
In the U.S., Dr. Rahman will meet with senior diplomats and permanent representatives from various UN member states. The visit is seen as a critical step in Bangladesh's diplomatic campaign to lead the prestigious global forum, emphasizing the country's growing influence in international affairs.
