Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin today, November 26, 2025, robustly reaffirmed the Election Commission's (EC) dedication to ensuring a free, fair, and neutral 13th national election.
Speaking after inspecting the election preparedness and training of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) at the BGB Headquarters in Peelkhana, the CEC asserted that any attempts to resist the polls would be met with firm action, collectively backed by the nation, voters, and the media.
The CEC stated the EC, supported by countrymen, voters, and media, is confident in delivering a successful election and will collectively resist any untoward situation.
Nasir Uddin noted that the law and order situation is already better than it was on August 5, 2025, and continues to improve as the election approaches.
The CEC announced a crucial meeting with law enforcement agencies on November 30 to finalize deployment strategies. Security arrangements will be determined by a risk assessment that categorizes polling centers into red, yellow, or green zones.
A total of 1,210 platoons of BGB personnel will be deployed nationwide for election duties. BGB will be on duty in all upazilas except Sandwip, Hatia, and Kutubdia. They will operate independently in 60 out of the 115 border upazilas.
BGB election training began on August 24, 2025, and is scheduled to run until January 22, 2026, conducted in four phases.
The CEC praised the professionalism and readiness of BGB members and noted that the extensive training for BGB, Police, and Ansar will significantly enhance their performance for a 'beautiful election'.
