


The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has formed a special monitoring committee to oversee whether teachers, officials and employees under its jurisdiction are using social media in accordance with government rules and guidelines.
The move comes as authorities seek to ensure compliance with the government’s prescribed social media guidelines and code of conduct for public servants.
Special Committee to Monitor Social Media Activities
The matter was confirmed in a notification issued on Tuesday, signed by Professor Tipu Sultan, Director of the Monitoring and Evaluation Wing of DSHE and convener of the Social Media Monitoring Committee.
According to the notification, government officials and employees are required to follow the applicable guidelines and code of conduct when using social media platforms.
The committee has been formed to monitor whether members of the education sector are properly following the revised social media guidelines issued by the Cabinet Division.
What Will the Committee Monitor?
The notification says that if any member of the DSHE education community publishes content on social media that violates government guidelines or could damage official discipline or the institution’s reputation, the matter should be brought to the committee’s attention.

Evidence Required for Complaints
The DSHE has instructed individuals who report such content to provide clear information about the concerned person.

Complainants have also been asked to attach screenshots of the disputed post or status, along with its specific publication date and time and any other relevant evidence.
