State Minister for Public Administration and Food Abdul Bari sustained minor injuries after his car plunged into a roadside ditch in Bogura's Shibganj upazila on Friday morning.

The accident occurred around 9:00 am on the Mokamtala-Joypurhat road in the Gopinathpur area. According to Shibganj Police Station Chief Shahinuzzaman the minister's driver swerved off the road to avoid hitting an elderly pedestrian who had suddenly stepped into the vehicle's path.

The minister was traveling from Dhaka to his Joypurhat-2 parliamentary constituency alongside his wife who emerged from the crash unharmed. Shortly after the incident the couple resumed their journey to Joypurhat in an alternative vehicle.
