Brazilian forward Gabriel Martinelli has officially joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal ending a highly successful seven-year spell at Arsenal. Both clubs confirmed the transfer on Thursday.
The 25-year-old attacker has signed a four-year contract with the Saudi club. Al-Hilal’s Board of Directors led by Prince Nawaf bin Saad and finalized the agreement adding another major international talent to their roster.
Martinelli joined Arsenal in 2019 and became a pivotal figure for the English champions. Over his time in North London he made 278 appearances across all competitions and scored 62 goals. His dynamic performances helped Arsenal secure the Premier League title last season as well as the FA Cup in 2020 and the FA Community Shield in 2023.
In a farewell statement on their official website, Arsenal expressed their gratitude for his service: "Everyone at Arsenal would like to thank Gabi for his contribution to the club and wish him and his family well for the future."
Martinelli is the latest high-profile Premier League star to make the move to Saudi Arabia this year. He joins a growing list of talents transitioning to the Saudi Pro League following the recent signings of Crysencio Summerville from West Ham United and Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa.
