Al-Hilal secured a dominant 3-1 victory over Qatar's Al-Sadd in Riyadh on Tuesday, preserving their perfect start to the western league phase of the Asian Champions League Elite.
First-half goals from Yusuf Akcicek (25th minute) and defender Kalidou Koulibaly (40th minute) gave the Saudi Pro League side a commanding lead. Al-Sadd briefly pulled one back through Roberto Firmino in the 63rd minute, but Sergej Milinkovic-Savic sealed the win with a stunning late free kick. Koulibaly, who both scored and assisted, expressed his delight with the team's performance in front of their fans.
Al-Hilal now leads the western league standings with a maximum of nine points from three games. In another match, UAE's Shabab Al-Ahli also continued their unbeaten run, defeating Uzbekistan's Nasaf 4-1 in Dubai.
