The Election Commission has published the final list of potential polling stations for the upcoming local government elections in Munshiganj’s Louhajang Upazila.
According to an August 27 notification signed by District Election Officer Mohammad Jasim Uddin 61 polling stations comprising 402 booths have been designated for the Upazila Parishad elections. Meanwhile, 91 centers featuring 453 booths will be set up for the Union Parishad elections.
The upazila, which does not have a municipality, consists of 10 unions: Medinimondal, Kumarbhog, Haldia, Kanaksar, Louhajang-Teutia, Bejgaon, Baultali, Khidirpara, Gaondia, and Kalma. In total 1,77,821 registered voters comprising 91,026 males and 86,795 females will have the opportunity to exercise their democratic rights in these areas.
Louhajang Upazila Election Officer Mosammat Anjuman Ara Khatun clarified that while this initial list provides a clear logistical framework the centers will be formally finalized after the Election Commission announces the official election schedule.
With the polling locations now identified, local administration and law enforcement agencies will begin deploying their center-based security plans. Authorities are prioritizing the necessary manpower and safety measures to ensure a peaceful and smooth voting environment for the public.
