


The 30th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF)-2026 officially opened Saturday at its permanent venue in Purbachal. Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin inaugurated the event at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre (BCFEC), marking the fifth time the fair has been held at this location.
Originally scheduled for January 1, the opening was postponed to January 3 following three days of national mourning for former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
Event Details and Logistics The month-long fair will run until January 31, welcoming visitors daily from 10:00 a.m. to 9:50 p.m. (extended to 10:00 p.m. on weekends). This time Ticket Prices are Tk 50 (Adults), Tk 25 (Children under 12), Free Entry for Freedom fighters, persons with disabilities, and victims of the July 2024 movement and Exhibitors 324 stalls/pavilions, including 11 foreign participants Global Presence of India, Turkey, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
Sustainability and Modernization This year, the Ministry of Commerce has implemented a strict ban on polythene bags and single-use plastics. Stalls found violating this rule will be disqualified from all awards. To support this "green" transition, eco-friendly jute bags are available at subsidized prices through the Ministry of Textiles and Jute.
For the first time, an "Export Enclave" titled "Best of Bangladesh" has been introduced to showcase top-tier local products to international buyers. Visitors can also use a new e-ticketing system with QR code entry to avoid long queues at the gates.
Transportation and Security To facilitate travel, more than 200 BRTC shuttle buses are operating from key locations from Kuril Biswaroad: Tk 40, Farmgate (Khamarbari): Tk 70, Narayanganj & Narsingdi: Tk 100–130.
Security remains a priority, with round-the-clock surveillance from police, RAB, and the armed forces, alongside mobile courts to ensure food quality at the 500-seat cafeteria and various restaurants.
