6-Year-Old Girl Killed by Speeding Bus in Sonaimuri, Noakhali

A six-year-old girl tragically died after being struck by an unidentified bus in Noakhali's Sonaimuri upazila on Friday morning.

The victim, Hasna Begum, was the daughter of Md. Hasan, a resident of Sundarpur village in the neighboring Chatkhil municipality.

The fatal accident occurred around 10:15 am near Joyag Bazar on the Sonaimuri-Chatkhil regional highway. According to police and local witnesses, Hasna had just arrived in the area on a CNG-run auto-rickshaw with her family members. Shortly after stepping down from the vehicle, she attempted to cross the road and was run over by a speeding bus. She died on the spot.

The bus fled the scene immediately and remains unidentified.

Sonaimuri Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Kabir Hossain confirmed the incident, stating that a police team was dispatched to the scene immediately after receiving the report. At the urgent request of the grieving family, the child's body was handed over for burial without an autopsy.
