Traffic to be Restricted in Karnaphuli Tunnel for 4 Nights

Vehicular movement through the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Tunnel (Karnaphuli Tunnel) in Chittagong will be restricted for four consecutive nights, from May 17 to May 20, due to routine maintenance work.

The Bangladesh Bridge Authority (BBA) announced the decision in a press release signed by Deputy Director and Public Relations Officer Masud Rana Sikder on Sunday (May 17).

According to the notification, traffic will be restricted daily from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM. During these hours, vehicles will be diverted through either the 'Patenga-Anowara' or 'Anowara-Patenga' tube as required.

Commuters may face minor delays of 5 to 10 minutes at both ends of the tunnel, depending on traffic volume. The BBA has requested the cooperation of passengers and transport workers to ensure safe and efficient maintenance operations.
