


A seminar on the “Cashless Bangladesh Initiative” was held at (PSTU), aimed at expanding digital transactions and strengthening financial security. The event was organized by .
The seminar began at 11:00 AM on Monday (April 20) at the university’s TSC conference room and continued until 1:30 PM. The main session featured a visual presentation by Chiranjib Chowdhury, Deputy Director of the Payment Systems Department of .
The Vice-Chancellor of PSTU, Professor Dr. Kazi Rafiqul Islam, attended the program as the chief guest. Special guest was Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. S. M. Hemayet Jahan. The session was chaired by A.N.M. Moinul Kabir, Director of Payment Systems Department-1 of Bangladesh Bank. Also present were Md. Parvez Anjam Munir, Additional Director of Bangladesh Bank, and Md. Zakir Hossain, Head of Card and Digital Banking at IFIC Bank.
In his speech, the Vice-Chancellor said that leveraging the technological capabilities of IFIC Bank could ensure user-friendly and efficient services for students, teachers, and staff. He expressed optimism about transforming the university into a fully cashless campus through the effective implementation of digital transactions.
In his remarks, Chairperson A.N.M. Moinul Kabir emphasized that despite existing challenges, there is no alternative to building a cashless Bangladesh. He highlighted the importance of proper initiatives, coordination, and a shift in mindset to achieve this goal.
During the interactive session, students and officials raised various questions regarding digital banking, which were addressed by the experts.
The seminar concluded with a renewed commitment to raising awareness about digital transactions within the university community and building a modern, cashless campus.
