


Police recovered the body of a 30-year-old autorickshaw driver, Farhad Hossain from a crop field in Laxmipur Sadar Upazila on Friday morning.
The victim’s family alleges he was murdered after being lured out of his house late at night with the promise of receiving unpaid money.
Farhad, a resident of Purba Charmansa village and a father of one, was reportedly called on his mobile phone around 2:00 AM on Thursday.
His wife Nargis Begum stated that the caller promised to settle an outstanding debt. When Farhad did not return and his phone was found switched off the following morning the family began a search eventually finding his body a kilometer away from their home.
The attackers had brutally gouged out Farhad's right eye. Local police officials led by Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Aminul, confirmed that the death is being treated as a murder.
The body has been sent to the morgue for an autopsy and legal proceedings are currently underway to identify and arrest the perpetrators.
