Newborn’s Body Recovered from Highway in Narail

Police recovered the body of a newborn baby from the side of the Kalna-Narail-Jashore highway on Wednesday afternoon.

Local residents alerted authorities after noticing a foul odor coming from a bag left near the Malibag intersection in Auria Union around 12:00 PM. Upon inspection, the body of the infant was discovered inside.

Narail Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Oli Mia confirmed that a team reached the spot promptly to recover the remains. The body has been sent to Narail Sadar Hospital for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

"An unnatural death case has been filed regarding this incident," said OC Md. Oli Mia. "We are investigating the matter, and legal action will be taken against those responsible."
