


A discussion on "The Role of Media in Drug Control" alongside a reception for nationally recognized science project winners was held at the Narail Club Hall today, July 10. The exceptional event was jointly organized by the weekly Narail Kantha (online version) and the daily Narail Pratidin.
During the discussion on "The Role of Media and Conscious Civil Society in Drug Control," speakers emphasized the urgent need to protect the youth from drug abuse. They highlighted that building a healthy society requires the media and civil society to work shoulder to shoulder. The speakers noted that family awareness, combined with a proactive media, is crucial to eliminating the curse of drugs.
In the second half, students of Narail Government Girls' High School were honored with a special memento for securing a position among the top ten nationwide in the recent "Start-up, Science Project, and Innovation Idea Showcasing Program-2026." Guests celebrated this glorious achievement and encouraged the students to sustain their innovative endeavors.
Chaired by Narail Kantha Editor Kazi Hafizur Rahman, the event featured Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Investigation) Md. Rakibul Hasan as the chief guest. Other notable speakers included Narail Government Girls' High School Headmaster Sanatan Roy, Narail Town Club Secretary Adv. Shahinullah Mohan, and Narail Press Club Treasurer Mostafa Kamal. Local dignitaries, journalists, teachers, and students also attended the program, which was moderated by Narail Kantha Executive Editor Sujoy Ghosh.
