Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU) will organize and coordinate the GST cluster admission tests for the 2026–27 academic year. The examinations will be held on March 19, 20 and 27, 2027, across four units. The cluster currently comprises 20 universities with three newly established universities likely to join the process.
The admission test schedule was finalized at a meeting of the vice-chancellors of the GST cluster universities on Thursday night (September 17). The meeting was chaired by Professor Dr SM Hemayet Jahan, convener of the main admission test committee and vice-chancellor of PSTU. Details of the application process, eligibility criteria, fees and other matters will be announced later.
Under the finalized schedule, the Unit B (Humanities) test will be held on March 19 from 11am to 12pm. On March 20, the Unit C (Business Studies) test will take place from 11am to 12pm, followed by the Unit D (Architecture) test from 3pm to 4pm. The Unit A (Science) test will be held on March 27 from 11am to 12pm.
Earlier, a meeting of the GST cluster vice-chancellors held in Dhaka on September 11 decided to assign PSTU responsibility for organizing and coordinating this year’s admission tests. The meeting discussed the overall arrangements for conducting the examinations with the participating universities agreeing to place the responsibility with PSTU.
The 20 universities currently in the GST cluster are Islamic University, Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University, Patuakhali Science and Technology University, Noakhali Science and Technology University, Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University, Jashore University of Science and Technology, Pabna University of Science and Technology, Begum Rokeya University, Gopalganj Science and Technology University, University of Barishal, Rangamati Science and Technology University, Rabindra University, University of Frontier Technology, Netrokona University, Jamalpur Science and Technology University, Chandpur Science and Technology University, Kishoreganj University, Sunamganj Science and Technology University, Pirojpur Science and Technology University, and Naogaon University.
Three newly established public universities—Bogura University, Thakurgaon University and Meherpur University—have expressed interest in joining the GST admission process. However no final decision has been made on their inclusion.
Professor Dr SM Hemayet Jahan said several committees comprising the vice-chancellors have been formed to ensure the admission tests are conducted fairly, transparently and with accountability.
He said reducing students’ travel-related difficulties would be a key priority. Most vice-chancellors supported allowing students to sit for the tests in their own areas or at nearby centres to reduce the burden on candidates and their guardians.
