


Police have arrested 23 individuals suspected of militant activities during a covert meeting at Tejgaon College in Dhaka’s Farmgate area.
A senior police officer from the Tejgaon Division confirmed the arrests to the media on Friday afternoon. Acting on intelligence reports the law enforcement raided the college premises and apprehended the suspects.
"We arrested 23 people holding a secret meeting at Tejgaon College and suspect they are involved in militant activities" the official stated.
Specialized Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) and the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) branch have joined the operation to assess the situation and screen the suspects.
The detainees are currently in custody at the Tejgaon Police Station while the investigation continues. Officials at the station confirmed that the chief of the CTTC is en route to oversee the initial interrogations. Authorities are expected to release further details in an official briefing once the preliminary investigation is complete.
