All Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations under the Chattogram Education Board have been suspended until July 16 due to the ongoing flood situation in southeastern Bangladesh.
The announcement was made on Saturday (July 11) during a press briefing by Prime Minister's Adviser Maidi Amin, following consultations with deputy commissioners (DCs) from the affected districts.
He said the government is closely monitoring the flood situation and that the Prime Minister is personally overseeing response efforts. According to the adviser, the government has taken a range of measures to address the natural disaster with the highest priority.
The latest decision extends an earlier suspension announced on Friday, when the Chattogram Education Board postponed Saturday's HSC and equivalent examinations because of adverse weather and widespread flooding.
In a notice signed by Controller of Examinations Parvez Sazzad Chowdhury, the board said the examinations were deferred to ensure the safety of students and examination officials.
The suspension applies to all districts under the Chattogram Education Board, including: Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Rangamati, Bandarban, Khagrachhari,
Authorities are expected to announce revised examination schedules after assessing the flood situation.
