Nationwide Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign Underway

Bangladesh Launches National Measles-Rubella Vaccination Program

Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain officially inaugurated the national measles-rubella vaccination campaign at Zinda Park on Monday morning. The initiative aims to immunize approximately 18 million children aged 6 months to 59 months across Bangladesh.

The campaign is being executed in two primary phases

Phase 1 Started April 5; concludes April 25 (covering 30 upazilas across 18 districts).

Phase 2 Started April 12; concludes May 12 (covering major city corporations including Dhaka North, Dhaka South, Barisal, and Mymensingh).

Vaccinations are available daily from 8:00 AM at all permanent and temporary health centers, excluding weekends. Health officials urge parents to ensure their children receive this essential dose to bolster community immunity against these highly contagious viral diseases.
