


Retired Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar has been appointed as his Principal Secretary by newly appointed Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. The Contract and Foreign Employment Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday (February 17) night.
The notification said that in accordance with Section 49 of the Government Services Act, 2018, retired Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar has been appointed as the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister on a contractual basis for a period of one year from the date of joining on the condition of renouncing any other profession, business or employment relationship with any government, semi-government, private institution or organization.
Other terms of this appointment will be determined by the contract. This order has been issued in the public interest.
Earlier, the government cancelled the remaining period of the contractual appointment of Principal Secretary to the interim government's principal advisor Muhammad Yunus, M Siraj Uddin Miah, on Monday. He was appointed as Principal Secretary to the Chief Advisor on a contract basis from October 2, 2024.
