Md Rashed Khan Appointed as Prime Minister's Political Assistant

Md Rashed Khan a BNP leader and former general secretary of the Gono Odhikar Parishad, has been appointed as the Prime Minister’s Political Assistant. The contractual appointment grants him the rank and status of a secretary.

The Ministry of Public Administration officially announced the decision on Sunday, July 19, through a gazette notification signed by Deputy Secretary Md Golam Rabbani on behalf of the President.

According to the notification, Khan’s appointment takes effect immediately upon joining and will continue until the end of the Prime Minister's tenure or until further notice. To assume this role, he is required to resign from any other professional, business, or employment commitments across government, semi-government, or private sectors.

Additional terms and conditions regarding his role will be outlined in his formal employment contract. The government stated that this appointment was made in the public interest.
